Stadium Sip: Cardinal Point A6 2007
How about those Redskins, huh? On a beautiful, sunny day they chalked up another victory over the NFL’s Arizona Cardinals. I mean, who would have thought that after the horrid pre-season that the Redskins would open up the playbook and jump on a two game winning streak. But, before we raise and clink our wine glasses too soon, let’s just see how they fare against the undefeated Dallas Cowboys.
Complimenting this beautiful day at the pre-game tailgate party was the Cardinal Point A6 2007. The A6 is a longtime favorite blend from Cardinal Point Winery consisting of 61% Viognier and 39% Chardonnay. This nicely crafted sipping wine displays inviting aromas of stone fruit and apples and, although relatively light in body, has a nice texture that gives it a fuller mouth feel. With good acidity and balance, this wine would do well as an aperitif wine paired with grilled chicken, seafood, or light cheeses. Enjoy young, as it is drinking well right now. Where to find it - You can either visit the tasting room in Afton and enjoy the picturesque views, or try your local Total Wine store where some CP wines are carried.
Price: $19 Alcohol Percentage: 12.8% Enclosure: Real Cork
(Note: This wine can also be found at most local Total Wine stores for $14.99)
